Catalyst Tutoring & Prep, LLC was founded by Dr. Christian Wright, a biologist and educator with over a decade of experience in science education. His journey began through Teach For America, where he taught high school biology and chemistry. Those early years in the classroom—and his time as a department chair—sparked a lifelong commitment to helping students learn science with clarity, confidence, and purpose, regardless of their background.

After earning his Ph.D. in Biology from Arizona State University, Dr. Wright continued teaching at the university level, teaching both introductory biology and graduate courses on scientific teaching. Alongside his teaching, he conducted biology education research focused on how assessment design and curriculum design influence student learning and equity in science. He also authored an award-winning introductory biology lab curriculum while contributing to large-scale program reform efforts that improved student mastery and engagement across the life sciences.
